Students

Instruction is available for ages six through adult. Unless otherwise noted, beginners are always welcome.

Courses

Classes meet once per week during the 10-week semesters.
The Summer Semester offers seven one-week courses. Classes meet each day, Monday-Friday.

Class size:
Courses are activated with a minimum of five students and, depending on the course, are considered full with 10 to 12 students.

All students receive individualized attention:
From the onset of a course, each student's abilities (talent, interest, work ethic) are observed and evaluated by the instructor. Individual goals and needs become a part of the course curriculum. Unless otherwise noted, beginners are always welcome.

KidsArt
(ages 6-8), Young Artists (ages 8-12) and Teen Art Scene (ages 13-19) are courses with new curriculum each semester. They are intended to provide students continuous study in the visual arts.

Snow Cancellations:
JSA notifies each student in the event of a class cancellation due to weather.

Workshops

JSA offers occasional workshops, such as a three-hour figure drawing session with a live model. The Workshops page offers the information and registration form.
Private workshops may also be scheduled. This may include an art session for an organization such as the Girl or Boy Scouts, or a birthday party with friends.

Birthday Parties

Typically a three-hour session, families choose an art activity and have two hours of instruction, and an hour of party time.

Private Instruction

Children, teens and adults may receive one to one, or small group instruction. While appointments may be made at various times throughout the week, Fridays are set aside specifically for private instruction.
College admission portfolio development for high school students is available.

You may register by telephone, in person, or by mailing a form from this website or a course booklet. Checks, MasterCard & Visa are accepted.

A 10% discount may be applied to the tuition of each additional immediate family member registering for any course.
